Recruiting managers do not take hours to read your resume. A minimum time taken by a recruiter to read your resume is seven seconds, they skim through your resume and move on to another within seconds and you have a seven-second window to create an impression on the recruiting manager.

It is difficult to get your resume noticed by the employer but it is vital to engage the authentic audience to your resume otherwise your resume is going to end up in the trash.

But here are some tips that will help you not only to grab the recruiter’s attention but also get ahead of the Application Tracking System (ATS).

Clear Formatting

Your resume needs to have concise formatting to get through the software system, when your resume is scanned in the ATS it should pick up the keywords relevant to the job. If you are in plan to submit an info-graphic or visual resume, think that twice unless you are job involves creativity like fashion designing or graphic designing.

Use Basic Font

Arial, Calibri, and Times Roman are the most perfect for a resume if you think you can become more stylish and use fancy fonts that are not clear and not easily readable then you are gambling with a potential job opening.

Always remember to use the basic and legible fonts and keep the font size within 12-14 not beyond. Also, bold the letters to highlight the headings.

Get Rid Of Irrelevant Information

 A resume should be nothing but perfect there shouldn’t be room for a single error.

So, once you are done crafting your resume give it a thorough reading this will help in identifying the typos or any grammatical errors.

Don’t just save your resume as “resume” give your resume a name i.e, your name example: “DanicaJosephResume”. This will make your resume recognizable.

Save It Professional Format

If you have a physical resume scan it into a digital resume and save it in the convenient PDF Format, most employers ask for a resume in the PDF Format which will be easy for you to mail in case you are asked for a different format use the converting tools and convert your document into the desired format.
