A ton of famous people, including the Mayweathers and 50cent grieved after the demise of Roger Mayweather who died at the age of 58 Floyd. Mayweather Jr. gave homage to his uncle and previous mentor Roger Mayweather after his passing. This is second such hit to the boxing star after his previous girlfriend was discovered dead a week ago.

Alongside being one of the best boxing coaches, Roger Mayweather was likewise a two-weight titleholder during the 80s, before assisting with preparing his nephew into one of the best fighters ever.

After his demise at 58 years old on Tuesday, Floyd Mayweather hailed his uncle as “one of the most important people in my life.”

Before becoming a boxing trainer, Roger got the name – Black Mamba – by the fans after his debut in 1981. The fans named him ‘The Black Mamba’ after the name of a venomous snake. In his professional boxing carrier, Mayweather had an impressive record of 59 wins out of 72 fights.

“Roger was a great champion and one of the best trainers in boxing,” the retired former five-weight world champion said.    

“My uncle was one of the most important people in my life inside and outside of the ring. Unfortunately, his health was failing him for several years and now he can finally rest in peace.

“Roger meant the world to me, my father Floyd Sr., my uncle Jeff, our whole family, everyone in and around the Mayweather Boxing Gym and the entire boxing world. It is a terrible loss for all of us.

“Roger’s spirit lives on with us forever,” ‘Money’ added. Apart from Floyd, 50 Cent who has not been shy in mocking the Mayweathers in the past, kept his beef aside and paid homage to the late legend. He posted a post on insta with the caption, “R.I.P. Uncle Rodger God bless.”

“On top of being a phenomenal fighter in his own career, Roger was one of the most essential parts of guiding Floyd to the incredible career he had in becoming the best ever,” said Leonard Ellerbe, C.E.O. of Mayweather Promotions.

“We hope you keep Floyd and the entire Mayweather family in your thoughts and prayers during this time.”

Mayweather promotions’ twitter handle posted, “We are saddened with the recent news of Roger Mayweather’s passing. Our hearts go out to the Mayweather family and we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. We thank you all for the outpouring of love and support during this time. Roger’s spirit lives on with us forever”
